About Open Hands International (India)

OPEN HANDS INTERNATIONAL (INDIA) is a charitable Organization founded by Lawrence M. Arumainayagam and his wife Christly (Getsie). Open Hands International (India) seeks to bring hope for the hopeless, helps the helpless and be the voice for the voiceless.

Open Hands International(India) was established in the year 2000 as a Religious and Charitable Trust. OHI has been involved in many benevolent services extended to the public irrespective of caste, creed, religion and classes.

OHI Children Homes provide for the needy children’s physical, educational, social and spiritual development. Admissions are based on need with no discrimination on the basis of gender, caste or religious background. The children are cared for by a dedicated staff in a safe and healthy environment.

OHI is mainly involved in providing equal opportunities to the needy children from various backgrounds. Hundreds of children who have been through our Children Homes are now working in many fields with good jobs and have good families established. They provide a meaningful contribution in their local communities.

Yearly kids’ camps see children from the children homes for character development classes and games in an atmosphere of love and care. These children are encouraged to excel in their lives in all aspects of their lives.

Periodic medical checkups are done for the children and are taken to local clinics when necessary for follow up. Children are encouraged to participate in games or activities organized by schools and by other charities. OHI seeks to work along with Government’s Social Welfare Department's guidelines in children’s care.
